This week's featured fiction is The Last Sentinel! Read, rate, and review, please!
[7/5]
What Shy0ne says about this piece: This is great story about a young woman who hunts the supernatural. Rea is a sentinel, a protector, and the last of her kind. There is plenty of action comedy and a hint of romance. And some memorable and likable characters. Sen has some beautiful description in this story and the plotline is developing into a juicy story. I hope that others will read this and encourage Sen to write some more chapters.

I like the narrative style, but I was confused about the setting. : I don't know if you want to clear it up, but it was hard for me to tell if we were in an office, on a dock, or in a court room. Probably how you want it to be narrated, but it made me go a bit crosseyed. (Especially when he said "Polski". Why'd he say that?)
That said, I look forward to a Zombie story told from Vera's side. I like how you snuck in her being the translator, and that it's supposed to be translated from Russian. Very clever. (Though, since it's all in English and they're supposed to be speaking in Russian and English, I was a little confused about what language was being spoken when. That'll be a bit tricky, eh?)

I love it how its a sorta professional/something you read outta a newspaper feel but its also sorta..quirky. Or maybe I just find the sentence "It took him a while to realize that we were speaking Russian" sort of amusing ^^:;
Can't wait to see it unfold

Good story and one that i was immediately interested in after reading your character discriptions but did you have to end it so soon? I wanted to read more darn it!
Spg was good but these 2 caught my attention...

I have to agree with everyone else. When you are dealing with sensitive subjects like this you need to build some more setting to get the reader engaged in the story. Right now is a bit tame even though is has this rather horrid topic. Like everyone else I suggest you flesh it out some more it could be a powerful story if you set it up some more.

I think it needs a point. Yes, rape and abuse is violent and disgusting, but there's usually a point in story's about it: the girl finally gets away, or the guy gets busted, or nothing happens and the woman continues to suffer. Granted, if there is more to come, then the point will be made clear, but if this is a stand alone, that's what I feel is missing most. The other things are surface stuff, that can be caught with a spell check and a look through.

Hmm, I agree with cal mainly, though not about the action sequences; yes, the action does need some more strength, but I think the question is more of you need to describe what is going on to rise the intensity. This is a story about abuse- summing upthe story in several paragraphs, in a realistic feel as your going for isn't the best approch. We want to understand and feel the character- it makes the moment more dramatic and more horrible. that's my advice, anyway ><
