Okay, I consider myself fairly okay when it comes to computer smarts, but this is the second time an external hard drive suddenly just stops existing for me. Gods, its so annoying I am not sure I can express it with articulate words. How the heck am I supposed to make backups if the computer is dead set on eating them? Grrrr.... well, I guess that is enough venting for now. Best return to the task of trying to fix this.... uuuuuuurghhh!

Have you guys ever thought about the everyday heros you hear about? Have you ever considered that there might be more of them than those you hear of. That there might be somone else aside from the extrordinary tales of endurance and such that reaches the newspapers?

I have and I have concluded that we need to pay these people homage. Not for what they do for others, but simply because of who they are and their big hearts.

I know you might ask what provoked this sudden vague praise of those few great soldiers among us, but this I cannot tell you. I will simply say that I have been touched by one of these and that I honour that profoundly. It drives me to try and better myself and I think we all should do the same. If we do, then maybe, on day, these hero's can lay down their weapons and live only heeding those big hearts.

A big thank you to those of you out there and to those listening.

Zed

Its been an awesome one year and seven months of writing, but today, 11:33 PM, the main villain of the Satura RP said goodbye and left the forces of good triumphant. Its safe to say I am rather shaky right now. It has not fully dawned on me that the battle is over. I've sort of grown accustomed to thininking of these characters and their constant battle for freedom, yet now they are finally free. Whatever will I do!?Surprised

I suppose I'll miss it, but it will be a good kind of wanting.Smile

Anyway when I said it was all over I was excluding the aftermath (which will have to be written too) but in many ways the plot has culminated and I feel its due time to break out the champagne or what have you. Before all that though I have to official thank my great co-writer without all this would not have been possible!

THANK YOU SHY! Thank you! You're truly the best!Laughing

And our trusty readers, thank you too! There's not much of you out there, but we know who you are and we're very very very greatful for the feedback you've been giving us!
Laughing

PS:

Lyle and Kat will be back with more adventures before you know it, but first our happy ending!Wink

I'm certain of it. Just last week it had four punctures in the same inner tube (As I blogged about at the time). Nevermind the broken rear breaks, temperamental front light, rickety rear wheel, self-changing gears or the handlebars which prefer moving to a 45 degree angle and jamming there, no, I've gotten used to all of them. Now even the kick-stand has it in for me. I was cycling along at around 10MPH when it fell off. Not completely though, the bolt was just attaching it to the bike. Just enough, that is, so that when it fell it bounced off of the road it lodged itself in the rear wheel, bringing me to a dead stop. 10MPH to 0MPH in less time than it takes to blink. I nearly ate pavement.

I removed the kickstand fully and put it in my backpack. Although shocking at the time, it doesn't compare to when the ball-bearings melted. Titanium steel ball-bearings. Melted. Just take a moment to think about that. My legs have enough power in them to melt Titanium steel, apparently. It took some poor bloke an hour and a half to remove them. He used an ANGLE GRINDER.

Seriously, the bike wants me dead.

Don't you always get worried or anxious when starting a new blog? Especially if you already have another blog somewhere else and this is just a continuation of it? Should I introduce myself again, or just link to the previous blog? Or just be lazy and do neither?

I'm just gonna be lazy.

Anywho, I've not had a great week. It's been one of those weeks where getting hit by a bus would be an improvement. (Considering that my insurance company would give me more money per day than my job does for up to two years straight, you can see why).

The biggest two problems shall now be explained in pointless over-detail.

The first one is to do with staffing issues where I work.  Because college and university are just starting for some of our staff, they're now unable to work during the week. This is perfectly fine. Sure, we're already understaffed, but if their hours are being reduced, then the management should be able to hire new people or give more hours to others so that the problem doesn't get any worse.

You'd think that, wouldn't ya? No, we're losing three staff members and not replacing them. Meaning for several hours during the day we'll be down to only two staff members on the ground floor, when we should have at least four. For the first 30 minutes it'll just be me. Considering that I'm supposed to be getting the magazines out (Something I don't have enough time for anyway), I think I might get a bit stressed.

The other problem is my bike. On wednesday morning I discovered a puncture. I fixed it. I then discovered another puncture. I fixed that too. I then discovered a third puncture. I fixed that too. This meant I was running late. I checked and double-checked the tire, and it seemed fine. I pumped it up and got it ready. When I left it was pumped up fine.

Halfway to work it had gone flat, thanks to, you guessed it, another puncture.

So, the last days a lot of things has happened. I just got a new job (hurray) at a electronics store. This is allways good fun. So I quit my old job, the thing is that I can't stop working there before 24.10.09 and since I've allready started at my new job I'm working dobble shifts. In addition to this I got my computer repair shop and security research company. All of this sums up to a lot of work, or at least 14hrs a day. Joy. ^^

But that doesnt mean that I'm going to be absent from this site, that's not happening. The reason for my apparent absense this week is something real juicy. It might take some time, but those of you that use myspace or facebook will love this.

Since there is a call to close the forum based blogging section, I am migrating here to the official blogging area of LoS.

So that means Odds and Ends will be a bit different from what it was in the forum. I will still discuss some odds and ends that happen in my life; but I want to be able to show more of myself (photos and other things). Odds and Ends mean much more than the written word to me. It alos means that I can add more things that are actually odds and ends. Such as my team logos for American football, baseball and some other things.

Right now, I am bummed. The Steelers lost by a feild goal. I will have to check out more to get this in my forum thread for Are you ready for some ... talk Sports! So be looking there. I hope everyone will try to post something there. That is what the thread is for. I don't want to be the only person talking sports. I know we all get into something, why not start at the beginning of the season.

I am also inspired by what has been going on at church. My other blogs on Blogger.com will be getting some updates. I just want to figure out where to start first.

Then there is school. I have my books and am now counting down the days until I start classes. My classes will be online since I am still a full time employee at a major insurance company. My admin from the school has suggested just two classes during this semester. I am taking the 2 required classes. Fundamental English (Writing is what the book is about) and Math.

Here, I am looking forward to working with others on the podcast. As Zaul mentioned that his to be determined later. But I am getting excited by what is going on with LoS. I want to buy something for the store and just support this site. Who would have thaought after joining the forum site that we would  have a new look without much distruption and be able to send fiction links to twitter and talking of a podcast. It is a marvel that this has going pretty smoothly. Yes, there were bumps and bugs and invasions (BOT invasions) that we had to endure in some cases very short amounts of times and others that took a bit longer to work out. To all this I want to say Thanks to Zaul and tornell.  We could not enjoy each others company without either of them.

Yeah, I know that sounds dramatic, but it sort of is. I and Shy have been writing on this RP for one and a half year soon and we are now nearing the end and the ultimate defeated of the evil forces. It’s kind of sad and I notice that it affects my willingness to write. I am hesitant to post as if that will make it better. Yet I know I am doing this so I am now resolving to get over it and start writing.

Writing will be good in its own right too as I get so see the scenes planned for many months come to fruition. Still, for the moment, my theme song would have to be this.

And now, onward!

So far there has not been a staggering amount of feedback on the RP. In fact so far Shy and I have been our only commentators. Yet now I am happy to see Littlebro making an effort to show he likes the story that is a most welcome gesture!

As for other news LoS is currently in a good period. We have more visitors than ever before and activity is good.

What else? Oh, yes, as stated in the Webmaster's Lair, Tornell has fixed poll feature so now we can poll things once again.

Speaking of polling, that reminds me. There has been disappointingly little feedback on the poll on the frontpage regarding the on-site roleplaying section. Everyone should check that out if they have time. It only takes a click and you are immortalized in a genuine LoS poll!

Well, more tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Yeah, so hi and welcome to the administrator's blog. I am not much of a blogger. At least not if you look at what little blogging I did in the past. I did, however, have a blog over at TP. Nothing revolutionary ever made it into that blog, but I feel confident this will be more interesting as I can have some focus on what we are doing here at LOS.

I'll start right now by mentioning a few of the things we have done and are working on:

1) Getting LOS on twitter - done!

2) Making our own podcasts - working on it.

3) Making a new system to honour our great reviews and reviewers - working on it.

There are more as well, but for now I'll leave you with those and get back to working the LOS RP. Check it out, people! And don't be afraid to ask me questions about this or the RP.

Zaul out!
